SagiPinas is an open-source project that I worked on as an entry for a Nationwide Hackathon back in November 2019. The theme of the hackathon was The Philippines Debugged. The project is a web-based disaster response platform that integrates with a Facebook messenger chatbot that allows users to share their location and the particular incident they encountered. All of this can be done over Free Mobile Data.

It aims to serve as a Digital Emergency reporting platform to help first responders to locate people in need of assistance.

After a distress signal or incident report was sent, it would then appear on the First responder's Dashboard in real-time so they can decide which emergency services to dispatch. As shown in the quick demo above, The system is also fully operational on mobile devices as well so it can be used both in a headquarters and on-site.

This project marked my first Nationwide Hackathon win, and after winning, I worked on the project on and off for the next few months, improving on both the Backend and Frontend aspects of the project which honed my skill in building real-time system and complex Geospatial web applications.
